Dirty Dancing: The Play, opened in Australia on November 16, 2004. The musical includes “I’ve Had The time Of My life” , “Hungry Eyes” and also a new song entitled “Someone Like you” which was written by John DeNicola and Franke Previte back in 1988 as a follow up for Bill Medley. He never recorded it but it is now in the stage production. The show has also opened in Hamburg,Toronto, London and become the highest advance sales in West End Theater history. March ‘08, saw an opening of the play in Holland and Chicago, LA and Boston. The Hamburg show has moved to Berlin and is scheduled for Stuttgart in 2011. 2012 promises a new production that will tour Scandinavian countries.
